It’s that time of year again, where Mallory Square becomes less of a tropical resort and more of a fall paradise—when Rockville becomes dotted with colorful leaves, sweaters of all shades and pumpkin-themed menu items.
It’s only fitting that you should know what fall happenings are just footsteps or a short drive away from your Mallory Square home.
Fall Arts and Craft Festival

What: The Boyds Historical Society and the Boyds Civic Association are sponsoring a Fall Arts and Crafts Festival. Artists and crafters will offer a wonderful selection of handmade items.

What: Pumpkin TrolleyFest includes a stop at PINSON’S PUMPKIN MARKET. Children may exchange the tokens purchased with their trolley ride tickets for pumpkins they may decorate to take home. Visitors may also tour Street Car Hall with a docent, learn about the role of street cars in developing communities, and see the antics of Harold Lloyd in silent film comedies featuring street cars.
Seneca Creek State Park Nature Walk or Fall Foliage Pontoon Tour

Garden After Dark: Squash It

What: Pumpkins and beer. Enjoy autumnal microbrews while watching some pumpkin carving demonstrations, then carve your own. Finish the night with a moonlit tour of the garden. Fee includes two jack-o-lanterns, refreshments and tour.

What: Fall is the perfect time to sip on fresh apple cider! At Locust Grove Cider Days learn about pollination and the history of apples. You will get to press your own apples in our old fashioned hand cranked press and then sample the cider and discover some lesser-known apple varieties.
