Old Town Pour House only opened its doors a couple of years ago, but it's already become a happy hour institution in Gaithersburg. And since it boasts a craft beer list with more than 90 craft brews, it's no wonder why. From 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, one of those beers is always on special (just look for the tap with the necklace). Select house wines are also half-off, and a handful of apps are $4 apiece. The bites include fried pickles, cheese curds, and Firecracker rolls with Cajun chicken. Happy hour is also the only time that you can dig into a huge 1.5-pound Bavarian pretzel.
If you decide to sit down for a full dinner, still take the time to check out the beer list. It includes many local pours, like Feed the Monkey hefeweizen from Jailbreak Brewing in Laurel and Cross Bones IPA from Heavy Seas Brewing Company in Baltimore. The food menu was designed with the beer in mind as an accouterment, so everything pairs well with the suds, from starters like the truffled mac and cheese to entrees such as meatloaf and short ribs.
