Poki DC opened its doors just a few weeks ago, and this popular Hawaiian-style eatery is emblematic of the newest trends in fast-casual dining. You won't find any greasy, fried foods here. Instead, all the ingredients are ultra-fresh (in fact, many are locally sourced) and the menu is full of healthy, nutritious meals that don't sacrifice a bit of flavor.
Every bowl is customized to your preference, too, so you can mix and match ingredients as you like. Start with a base of rice, zoodles, or mixed greens, and then add your choice of two or three proteins from a list of marinated ahi tuna, spicy tuna, grilled shrimp, and more. Next, you add as many fruits and veggies as you want, and then top it all with your favorite sauce — citrus miso is a crowd favorite, as is the sweet-and-hot honey wasabi. The restaurant itself is spacious, bright, and airy, with lots of weathered wood and festive outdoor chairs giving the place a casual, beachy vibe.
