The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at Rockville Civic Center Park presents “The Nutcracker.” Six performances will be held over two weekends: December 7-8th, and 14-15th. The performances run Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. with a matinee on Sundays at 2 p.m. General admission is $17, while seniors (60+) and children (12 and under) are $13. Tickets are available for purchase online or at the theatre box office.
The ballet performance is one filled with the magical essence of a fantasy tale in the backdrop of Germany’s Silberhaus household. Join “The Nutcracker” this holiday season to experience the riveting ballet of Clara Silberhaus’ journey from defending her precious nutcracker to dancing in the land of sweets. The holiday classic features well known musical scores dating back to 1892, such as “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” and “Waltz of the Flowers.”
The theatre itself puts on over 100 performances a year. Those performances include musicals, operas, and ballets. A full list of upcoming performances can be found on their website. Otherwise, more prompt updates and information can be found on their Facebook Page.
